What are your credentials - How can I trust you know what your talking about.

For the first half of my life until I was 12 years old, I suffered from weight problems. After going anorexic and losing over 70 pounds in the most unhealthy manner you can think of at the age of 13, I decided to dedicate myself to studying nutrition and later on weight training in order to figure out how to attain a great physique the right way. As you can see, I am not a genetic freak. At the age of fifteen, my interest in how food affects the shape and the form of the body naturally led to an interest in the area of exercise, something that led me to become an avid natural bodybuilder.

Discovering early on that there wasn't much realistic or practical bodybuilding or fitness advice, I then went on to start recording what worked and what didn't for me. After much trial and error, and alot of frustrations, I started finding principles that worked on any healthy human being. The best part of it all was the fact that there was no necessity to stay all day at the gym in order to get results! Upset at the fact that not many people in the industry cared about trainees actually reaching their goals, I decided to create a web site and start conducting free personal training during my college years in an effort to spread all of the knowledge that I had acquired. Eventually, this led me to put together the Body Re-Engineering Manual.

As far as my credentials, I graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelors of Science in Computer Engineering, a degree that really helped create extremely solid analytical skills that I use today when I design bodybuilding programs. I've also received a "Certified Personal Trainer (CPT)" and "Sports Nutrition Specialist (SPN)" certification from the ISSA, and I'm currently working to also obtain my American Council of Exercise (ACE)certification on Personal Training as well.

In addition, working in the engineering industry for 5 years enabled me to take very complex information and put it in words that anyone can understand; something that allows me to discuss complex subjects like diet design in a way that once you are done reading the chapter, you will know exactly what to do.

Regarding practical experience, I have been bodybuilding now for over 15 years. In that time frame I have helped thousands of people achieve their fitness goals either through one-on-one personal training or thorugh my several publications, fitness articles, radio appearances and seminars. Competitive bodybuilding wise I hold a Statewide Drug Tested for Life Bodybuilding Title (Mr. Typhoon Bay) and also a 4th Place in the Nationwide NPC Team Universe (the natural bodybuilder's highest and most competitive contest).

In 2001 I commercially published through Hatherleigh Press two books targeted towards the weight loss community called The Body Sculpting Bible for Men and The Body Sculpting Bible for Women (featuring the 14 Day Body Sculpting Program). I wrote these books in conjunction with James Villepigue, an authority in exercise form and the connection between the mind and the muscle. Both books soon became best sellers and now there are over 8 book extensions on that franchise with a scheduled re-release of the originals in 2006 that will even include and exercise and nutrition DVD.

In addition, I was selected amongst thousands of applicants from all over the world to become the new bodybuilding about.com  Guide, an About.com website owned by the New York Times Company whose goal is to help beginners start a safe and healthy weight-lifting program, choose the right gear for their needs, and offer motivation to help users meet their personal goals.

Finally, I have co-authored nutrition and training programs along with actress, fitness icon and six time Ms. Olympia Cory Everson. I've also served as consultant to High Schools helping to put together bodybuilding shows and educating the students on the several aspects of bodybuilding competition and the dangers of steroids. I also visit Elementary Schools and talks to kids about the importance of a solid education coupled with fitness and exercise.

Finally, I have also served as consultant to nutrition companies in designing nutritional formulas and writing marketing copy for such.

I guess that if you were to ask me what separates me from most of the other personal trainers is my knowledge of the human physiology and anatomy (something that I was exposed to from an early age due to the fact that my grandfather was a Medical Doctor), combined with the analytical skills that I developed through my engineering profession, enable me to produce extremely efficient and practical programs that anyone can fit into their schedule. Also the fact that he I was overweight and then extremely underweight (after the anorexic period) enables me to identify with all groups of people that have weight problems.
